The University of Worcester has been using the Blackboard 9.1 Virtual Learning Environment for eight years now following a review in 2011 where we decided to stay with Blackboard but upgrade to the (then) new 9.1 version on a managed hosting agreement.

There have been some changes in the VLE market over the past few years and with a new Strategic Plan for the University recently published, now is a good time to undertake a review of our current provision in line with our strategic priorities for digital learning and teaching.

A steering group has been set up to oversee this project and there will be extensive consultation with both staff and students over the coming months.

As a starting point, we are inviting staff to give some feedback on their current use of the VLE and their aspirations for future use to give us a benchmark of our current position.
